Hwaet Books

The most frequent question people ask us is: what does your name mean?
Hwaet is the word that begins Beowulf and is normally translated as “attention”, or “hark”, so it is appropriate that a word meaning “Pay attention!” is one of the first things people see when they enter Beaver Falls.

We saw that Beaver Falls had a need for a bookstore, so we opened one. This place is here because we love reading books, playing games, and because we know a lot of other people feel the same too. We provide a place for students or people in the community to hang out or study using our Wi-Fi.

Board games are our passion. Settlers of Catan, PowerGrid, Carcassonne, Bohnanza and Puerto Rico are a few of our popular games.

Every Wednesday we welcome you to come play any board game in the shop from 7pm to 9pm. It’s a great opportunity to relax with friends and try out a new game.
